It’s the only drink that most frustrates the cabin crew when you order it, and there’s a reason they hate pouring it into passengers.
Flight attendants have to put up with a lot of flight, and if you want to stay on their side, there’s a drink you should avoid ordering.
It’s Diet Coca-Cola. In short, it takes a long time to pour because the air pressure makes it more effervescent when you open the can.
And when you have a flight full of passengers wanting to order a drink, it can be frustrating for the cabin crew to have to put up with moans and moans.
In a TikTok shared by user Ariel Cisneros, it shows how long it takes for the fizz to set in, compared to a Coca Cola.
“That’s why flight attendants hate to serve Coke on the plane … it takes too long to spill,” the clip captioned.
The images showed two plastic cups filled with ice.
The cabin crew dumps one with Diet Coke and the other with Coca Cola.
The effervescence of Diet Coke took much longer to clear, while Cola settled in almost immediately and allowed the flight attendant to reload it immediately.
The clip has been viewed more than 340,000 times and hundreds of TikTok users are unaware of the drinking dilemma.
“That’s why they give me a cup of ice and the whole can of Diet Coke,” one person wrote.
“I don’t miss pouring Coca-Cola Dietetics. @Frontier Airlines we give you the can when you buy it “, added a flight attendant.
Others suggested tilting the cup and pouring the soda more slowly.
“Try to pour it more slowly on the ice. I understand you’re in a hurry, but if it’s slow enough, you don’t need the second or third pour,” one user suggested.
However, others pointed out that this is how the whole can is obtained, instead of one part.
“EXACTLY …. Someone receiving this video,” Ariel replied.
A flight attendant explains this on her blog These golden wings in the time it takes to pour a single dietary Coca-Cola, a flight attendant could also have served three more passengers.
“As you know, the cockpit of the plane is not pressed at sea level, but at the equivalent of about seven or eight thousand feet,” he wrote.
“This means that some passengers may feel a little light or that alcohol is affecting them almost twice as much as they would on the ground.
“It also means that soft drinks foam a lot more when poured from a can, and the worst culprit for that is Diet Coca-Cola – I literally have to sit back and wait for the bubbles to drop before I can continue pouring.
“If all three passengers order dietary Coca-Cola, I’ll often get them up and running, take three more drinks, serve them, and then finish the diet Coca-Cola.”
