The Toronto Maple Leafs did not extend the qualifying offers to Ondrej Kase, Joseph Duszak, Kristians Rubins, Chad Krys and Ian Scott, according to CapFriendly, meaning restricted free agent Pierre Engvall received one.

Engvall, a 26-year-old striker, scored 15 goals and threw 20 assists in 78 games with the Maple Leafs last season. The 2014 Maple Leafs seventh-round pick earned $ 1.25 million in 2021-22.

Kase, also 26, produced 14 goals and 13 assists in 50 limited games due to concussion problems.

Kadan, the Czech winger, began his career with the Anaheim Ducks, with whom he scored 20 goals in 2017-18. He was then traded to the Boston Bruins in February 2020 before signing a one-year, $ 1.25 million contract with Toronto last season.

Duszak, 24, produced 52 points in 61 games from the blue line with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL last season. He has yet to play his first NHL game.
