The Utah Jazz are swapping three times as defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro and four first-round picks, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ‘ESPN.
Utah will host the Timberwolves ’unprotected first-round election in 2023, 2025, 2027, an exchange in 2026, and one of the top five first-round protégés in 2029, reports Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
The Jazz failed to make it past the second round of the last six post-seasons.
Utah has no plans to change Donovan Mitchell at the moment and is committed to building around him, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.
In nine seasons with the Jazz, Gobert averaged 12.4 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks. He led the league in rebounds with 14.7 per game last season.
