The 30-year-old Spaniard was in his fourth season with the TFC as a Designated Player. In 16 games this season, the midfielder has scored four goals.
Acquired at Genk in 2019, Pozuelo made 100 appearances throughout the Reds competition, scoring 30 goals.
Pozuelo, twice named MLS All-Star, was key in TFC’s march to the 2019 MLS Cup final, where he eventually fell to the Seattle Sounders.
Pozuelo’s departure comes with rumors that the Reds are close to signing Italian winger Federico Bernardeschi. Bernardeschi, 28, is out of contract after five seasons at Juventus.
Bernardeschi was a teammate of TFC striker Lorenzo Insigne in the Italian team that won Euro 2020 last summer.
