The North Melbourne president has been criticized by AFL greats after it was revealed that the players ’brutal comments caused David Noble’s ax.
According to reports, the disappearance of David Noble as North Melbourne coach had its origins in comments provided to senior management by staff and players.
His 38-match tenure resulted in just five wins and Noble became the first chess piece to fall as part of an ongoing review of the club’s struggling football operations.

Comments from staff and players raised red flags and the club was forced to release Noble.
“The feedback from a large part of the staff was so strong that it left the club with no choice but to act,” reported Sam Edmund of SEN.
“Some players also made it clear that unless Noble was fired, they would seriously consider his future playing beyond this season.”
Edmund extended Noble’s conduct and the comments that eventually led to his downfall.

“Some players had succeeded, not all, some had made it very clear that if a decision was not made about the coach, they would seriously consider their future playing beyond this season.”
Speaking AFL 360Mark Robinson said Noble’s training was not suitable for the young group of North List players.
“He may be a good coach, but he may not be a good coach for a roster like North Melbourne,” Robinson said.
“He was brutal, very demanding by the standards and maybe if you had a more experienced group, that kind of feedback might be fine, I accept that, but when you’re younger … the players clearly fell for it. How does that happen? ?
“They are not players who do not get a match; players from the 18 headlines have fallen with him. How’s that going? “
Former North Melbourne Premier League player David King said the call, despite being tough, was the right decision.
“I think it’s (correct). It’s brutal. It’s difficult. But I think when you look at the direction of the club, the development that has no progression in terms of the game plan, is a difficult call, but in 38 games, for brutal whatever it is, he hasn’t been the man for the role, ”King told Fox Footy.

North Melbourne president Sonja Hood has been criticized after comments made during Tuesday’s press conference to announce that the club had split from Noble.

Cornes also criticized reports that several members of the playing group had called for the club to act and remove Noble.

Football legend Leigh Matthews couldn’t believe Hood’s comments about the state of the squad.
