Canadian lakes in hot water

New research shows that Canadian lakes are in hot water due to climate change.
A survey of 143 different studies has found that lakes everywhere are becoming warmer, shallower and more prone to the flowering of toxic algae.
Researchers say cold-water fish like lake trout are being discarded by others, such as small-mouthed sea bass.
They found that lakes in northern latitudes, such as Canada, are experiencing the fastest changes.
And they say these changes are driven by more ice-free days and more evaporation.
The paper was published in the journal Bioscience.
