In what basically amounts to an announcement of his retirement from football, veteran cornerback Richard Sherman has officially joined Amazon’s Thursday Night Football production.
Sherman joins the tight end of the Tony Gonzalez Hall of Fame as two analysts formally announced on Thursday night’s shows before the game, at halftime and after the game. Ryan Fitzpatrick will also be added, and Charissa Thompson of Fox will be the host.
The crew before, half and after the game will travel to all places of the game.
Sherman played for the Seahawks, 49ers and Buccaneers. Although he has not officially said that he has finished playing, presumably this news means that the door to his career as a player has been closed.
