Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss compete to be the next British Prime Minister

LONDON – Former UK Treasury chief Rishi Sunak will face Foreign Minister Liz Truss in the final round of the Conservative Party’s unpredictable bid to find the next British Prime Minister.

Conservative lawmakers selected the two candidates on Wednesday after several rounds of voting. Mr. Sunak and Mrs. Truss will tour the UK to try to win over the Conservative Party’s 160,000 base members. These broader Conservative members will vote for their new party leader, who would automatically become prime minister.
