There are many street parties and other events planned for all of Suffolk this week as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Although some of the roadblocks on our list have nothing to do with street parties, but with road works planned.
Here are 10 roadblocks to keep in mind next week:
Westerfield Road, Ipswich
Westerfield Road in Ipswich will remain closed until 10 June, while Cadent is carrying out essential road works.
As the road closes, there is a 4.2-mile detour route, which is expected to add about 15 minutes to people’s journeys.
A12, Woodbridge
The A12 in Woodbridge will be closed from 8pm to 6am from Monday 30 May to Thursday 2 June, while Suffolk County Council is carrying out essential works.
While the road is closed, a long 53-mile detour route will be established that is expected to increase by about an hour and a half on people’s commuting.
Cliff Lane, Ipswich
While the Jubilee celebrations take place on Sunday 5 June, Cliff Lane in Ipswich will be closed.
During the celebrations there will be a two mile detour.
Market Lane, Lavenham
Market Lane in Lavenham will be closed on Sunday 5 June, while the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations are being held.
While the road is closed, there will be a short detour that is only expected to increase by about five minutes.
B1064, Long Melford
The B1064 on Long Melford Street will be closed on Sunday, June 5 as part of the jubilee celebrations.
While the celebrations are taking place, a 5.2-mile detour route will be established, which should take about 10 minutes to complete.
Market Hill, Sudbury
Market Hill, in the market town of Sudbury Market, will be closed from 6pm on Saturday 4 June to Sunday 5 June as part of the Jubilee celebrations.
There will be a two-mile detour route and it is expected to take about five minutes.
The street, Nacton
Nacton Street will be closed near City Hall while the jubilee celebrations are held.
There will be a 3.3 mile detour while the road is closed.
Ixworth Road, Thurston
Ixworth Road, near Thurston Community College, will be closed from Monday, May 30 to Wednesday, June 1 while essential road works are completed.
While the works are being carried out, a 4.4-mile detour route will be established which should add about 10 minutes to the commuting.
Ashfield Road, Norton Little Green
Ashfield Road will be closed from Monday 30 May to Wednesday 1 June while Anglian Water is carrying out road works.
A five-kilometer detour will be carried out during the works.
Bridge Street, Kelsale
Bridge Street will be closed from 12 noon to 6 pm on Thursday, June 2 while the jubilee celebrations take place.
While Bridge Street is closed, there will be a three-mile detour route, which is expected to add about 10 minutes to people’s journeys.
