Rogers’ mobile and Internet networks were crashing in areas across Canada on Friday morning.
Although the company had not issued any formal notice of the outages at 7:45 a.m. ET, an online service tracker showed outages at locations across the country.
The Toronto police service tweeted that Rogers customers in that city were having trouble connecting to 911.
“We are working to solve these problems,” the force said.
The outages also appeared to be affecting Interac’s services.
Many social media users used Twitter, using alternate Internet connections, to express their frustration that Rogers had not provided any information to customers.
More to come.
