Police are looking to locate a 25-year-old mother and her three young children who lived on Ezra Miller’s farm in Vermont, and officials are concerned that The Flash star is protecting their whereabouts, they have learned Rolling Stone.
Over the weekend, Vermont State Police repeatedly tried to serve the mother with an emergency care order requiring the children to be removed from her care and home out of fear for their safety. But Miller claimed the family hasn’t lived there in months, which the Vermont state attorney’s office said appeared to be an attempt to “evade service” of the order, according to the court document obtained by Rolling Stone.
It was during one of those visits to find the mother that Miller was issued a summons on a charge of burglary for allegedly breaking into a home and stealing several bottles of alcohol in May.
Several police cars arrived at the property on Tuesday night, according to photographs reviewed by rolling rock, a local source confirmed, officers were at the house for nearly an hour. But it’s unclear whether officials were at Miller’s property for the emergency care order or another matter. It was also unclear if anyone was removed from the home. (A spokesman for the Vermont State Police department referred a request for comment to the Vermont Department of Children and Families, which declined to comment, citing confidentiality.)
State police had shown up at the sprawling Stamford property at least twice over the weekend in an attempt to serve the mother with a warrant sought by the state’s attorney’s office on the care of his three children, aged one, four and five, according to the court order.
In June, rolling rock reported that Miller had been hosting the family since mid-April after meeting the woman and her children in his home state of Hawaii in March. (Miller is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.)
Sources had raised the alarm about the children’s safety, claiming there were unattended guns around the house and they alleged they saw the one-year-old put a stray bullet in her mouth. (At the time, the children’s mother said Miller helped her escape an abusive partner and that “the ranch has been a healing haven for us.”)
But according to a DCF worker’s affidavit, the state attorney’s office had sought two emergency custody orders in the past week that sought to transfer legal custody of the children in the state
“The court concludes that remaining in the home is contrary to the child’s welfare because: the child’s safety cannot be reasonably assured if the child remains in the custody of the child’s parent, guardian, or custodian,” the order states.
The warrant notes that police had been unsuccessfully trying to enforce the warrant “all weekend.”
“Miller, the owner of the residence, reported that the mother and children had not been staying there for the past two months,” the warrant states. “This contradicts the information [the DCF caseworker] submitted to the Court in his affidavit while the mother posted on social media in late July 2022 that [the case worker] recognized as the interior of Miller’s residence.”
The mother had been active almost daily on Instagram, posting dates, selfies at the Miller home and snapshots of the property, before going dark on social media in mid-July, with her account apparently deleted.
A hearing on the matter is scheduled for the end of this week. A representative for Miller did not immediately respond rolling stones request for comment.
It’s been a rough week for Miller, who was charged with felony burglary after allegedly breaking into a local resident’s home and stealing several bottles of alcohol in May. Police said in a news release there was enough probable cause to charge Miller after reviewing surveillance video and taking statements. Police noted that Miller had only received a summons on the charge on Sunday. His appearance is scheduled for September 26.
Concern over Miller’s continued behavior appears to have reached a fever pitch, with all eyes on Warner Bros. to see how the studio will handle the situation considering they are the star of their next DC Comics movie. the flashslated for a June 2023 premiere. Miller hasn’t spoken publicly about the multiple allegations that have piled up against them, aside from an Instagram story in mid-June that read, “You can’t touch me, I’m in another universe.” They deleted their Instagram account soon after.
In March, the actor racked up a string of disorderly conduct arrests while on vacation in Hawaii. In June, Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle went public with allegations that Miller had “groomed” and “brainwashed” their 18-year-old son Tokata, a well-known Standing Rock activist who also uses the name Gibson. (Tokata, who uses pronouns, has since denied a number of allegations against Miller, instead accusing his parents of “emotional and psychological manipulation.”) Weeks later, a Massachusetts mother obtained a temporary restraining order against Miller on her behalf. 12 year old boy.
