It is believed that Crash Bandicoot could return soon in a new multiplayer game, with a possible revelation sometime next week.
According to Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, Toys For Bob may unveil a new Crash Bandicoot “fight” game designed for multiple players up to four players. He reportedly passed this information on to the latest Windows Central podcast. Here’s what he said (thanks, Pure Xbox):
“New Crash? I wonder where you got this information from? I shouldn’t have leaked it.”
“I think we could see a new Crash Bandicoot, and not only will it be a new Crash Bandicoot, it will also be a multiplayer Crash Bandicoot … It’s almost like a four-player brawler, but Crash-oriented.”
The “Wumpa League” has been rumored for a long time, although there is no guarantee that this game will be as it should be, or as it will necessarily be called. Jez himself said he couldn’t remember the official title during the podcast.
It is also unclear at this time on which platforms it would be launched. Switch has all the Crash remasters so far, including the new fourth entry, so hopefully it will be included in any future announcements if any.
Toys for Bob also said there will be more Crash Bandicoot “very soon” during last year’s anniversary celebrations:
