Russia ‘spits on grain deal’ as Kalibr missiles hit Odesa port

Vladimir Putin is “spitting in the face” of the UN by firing missiles at the Black Sea port of Odesa the day after the Kremlin signed a deal to allow grain exports, Ukrainian officials said.

Reports from Odesa said air raid sirens had been sounding since mid-morning and that two missiles had hit the port area, causing a fire, from where most of the grain was expected to be exported of Ukraine

“The enemy attacked the commercial sea port of Odesa with Kalibr cruise missiles,” the Operational Command South wrote on its Telegram social media channel.

“The Russian missile is Vladimir Putin’s spit in the face of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who made great efforts to reach the agreement,” said the Ministry’s spokesman of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko.

“If the agreement reached is not fulfilled, Russia will take full responsibility for deepening the global food crisis.”
