Ryanair cabin crew in Spain will go on strike for six days in late June and early July, according to its main unions.
Staff will leave on June 24, 25, 26 and 30 and on July 1 and 2, amid discontent over working conditions and pay, the USO union said. Although Ryanair staff in the UK have not announced a strike, industrial action could affect Britons flying to Spanish destinations this summer.
Last week, labor organizations such as SITCPLA and USO joined forces to demand an uprising, alleging that “they have no choice” but to leave if it does not happen, according to the Mirror.

The move comes after Ryanair, Europe’s largest budget airline, dropped talks with USO and SITCPLA on Tuesday, Bloomberg reports. Last week, a spokesman for the latter union said: “We are coordinating our actions with our European counterparts.”
USO and STCPLA said in a joint statement that Ryanair was not committed to the dialogue and accused the airline of acting in bad faith.
Negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement “barely progressed” due to “unrealistic demands and a refusal to commit significantly” by the unions, a letter from Ryanair said after the failed talks.
A Ryanair spokesman told The Mirror last week: “Ryanair has negotiated collective agreements covering 90% of our people across Europe. In recent months we have been negotiating improvements to these agreements as we work on the phase. of recovery of the Covid.
“These negotiations are going well and we do not expect a general interruption this summer. In Spain, we are pleased to have reached a collective agreement with CCOO, the largest and most representative union in Spain, which provides improvements to cabin crew based in Spain and reinforces Ryanair ‘s commitment to the well – being of its cabin crew.
“These much smaller announcements by the USO and SITCPLA unions are a distraction from their own failures in reaching agreements after three years of negotiations and we believe that the strikes they call will not have the support of our Spanish teams. “.
Ryanair has been contacted for further comments.
