Three people accused of stealing a large electric cable wheel from an Adelaide construction site overnight have been arrested after police followed a trail from the wet grass crime scene.

A witness reported that he saw someone rolling the cable wheel from an urbanization on Nilpena Avenue in Morphettville around 2:20 a.m. Friday.
Officers arrived to find a generator with the wires cut and the track marks through the wet grass.
Officers followed the cool tracks to the garage of a nearby house, where they allegedly found the cable wheel.
Police said they found more wires in the house, which they allegedly were peeling to extract the metal from inside.
Two Morphettville men, ages 29 and 33, were arrested and charged with robbery.
A 29-year-old woman was reported by officers for the same crime.
