The 48-year-old tells this week’s issue of Stellar that she is “ashamed” of her former career and has changed her ways after being diagnosed with bipolar II disorder.

“Now the fog has started to clear, I’m ashamed of some of my choices, especially going public,” he said.

“I don’t recognize the woman who did this and it’s mortifying to me.”

She continued: “I’m not blaming my bipolar or saying it’s all because of my bipolar. But would I have made these decisions if I’d been diagnosed and medicated? Chances are I wouldn’t have been so public about it.”

Amanda says that creating her alter ego Samantha “was a way of dealing with certain traumas in my life” and she felt she was “acting” when she engaged with that side of herself.
