Samsung has reportedly doubled the charging speed of the Galaxy Watch 5 series

I have been using the Galaxy Watch 4 regularly for about six months. During this time, I haven’t had any major issues with my smartwatch. But there’s one thing I don’t absolutely like: its slow loading speed. I’ve tried several solutions to get the clock to charge faster, but with limited success. Turning off the clock or activating airplane mode while charging seems to offer the best results. But I’m not a fan of doing it every other day, mostly because I forget to turn off airplane mode after charging more often than I’d like to admit. If you’re on the same boat, you’d love to know that Samsung is addressing this issue with its upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 line.

According to the FCC’s new list of upcoming smart watches, Samsung will offer 10 W fast charging support on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. While this may not sound like much, it is almost double what Samsung is offering in the Galaxy Watch 4 series, so it should be a significant improvement.

The FCC lists also confirm some of the details we’ve learned about the Galaxy Watch 5 series over the past few weeks. According to the listings, Samsung will offer three Wear OS watches in the next line with the model numbers SM-R900, SM-R910 and SM-R920. These model numbers refer to two size variants of the normal Galaxy Watch 5 (SM-R900 and SM-R910) and a single variant of the rumored Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (SM-R920). The listings also confirm that watches offer Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC support.

From previous leaks, we also know that the Galaxy Watch 5 series will include larger batteries and that the “Pro” variant could include a sapphire crystal and a titanium case.

Samsung has not yet shared official details about the Galaxy Watch 5 series. However, we expect the company to share some details during the weeks leading up to the launch. Speaking of which, we don’t have a final release date yet, but Samsung could unveil the new line of smart watches along with its next-generation folding hands sometime in August.
