Samsung has just reached its highest global smartphone market share in five years. In April 2022, Samsung was the best-selling smartphone brand with a market share of 24%, the highest since June 2017.

Samsung was only 1% shy of breaking that record in April 2022. And while Samsung’s market share soared to 24% in terms of phone sales, Apple plummeted to 15%. Apple was followed by Xiaomi, the last of which accounted for 12% of global smartphone sales in April.
How successful was Samsung?
Aside from the fact that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy A smartphones are excellent products, Samsung’s positive result was driven by several other factors, such as sound supply chain management and a good balance of supply and demand. .
Samsung also made a big impact in India and attractive promotions in major markets, including Latin America, have also helped the company expand its presence.
“In the future, Samsung is likely to maintain its leading position in the global smartphone market in the second quarter,” Counterpoint Research analysts predict, adding that the folding segment also has great potential for the Korean technology giant.
Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from August to September.
