Good news! Samsung could be about to fix one of the biggest hassles with their smartphones and it is great for anyone thinking of upgrading their current device next year. The big change has to do with what’s under the hood of the Korean company’s premium phones.
While a Galaxy S22 will look the same whether you buy it in the UK or the US, things are very different once you look behind the screen. For example, those who buy the new Galaxy S22 in the United States will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor inside.
However, grab the same device in Europe and you’ll find that it works with Samsung’s Exynos 2200 brains.
While there isn’t a big difference between these two processors, most speed tests show that Qualcomm’s brain is a bit faster and more efficient than Samsung’s chip. This means that those with a Qualcomm S22 could expect to see slightly faster speeds and slightly longer battery life.
It is also very confusing that the same device has a different processor depending on where you live and has long been a frustration for users.

Fortunately, it looks like those buying the next generation of Galaxy devices will no longer have this problem.
The best tech analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, is speculating that Samsung will drop its own chips to the upcoming Galaxy S23 and move to the power of Qualcomm for the entire range.
It’s unclear why Samsung is considering this change, though Kuo says the Korean firm may finally admit it can’t keep up with Qualcomm.
In a recent tweet, Kuo said, “S23 may not adopt Samsung-made Exnos 2300 4nm because it can’t compete with SM8550 in all aspects.”
We expect the Galaxy S23 to be unveiled early next year and could come with a major update to Qualcomm’s processor.
The chip maker has already announced that its annual Snapdragon Summit will take place later this year and it is almost certain that the firm will use this event to unveil its new Snapgragin 8 Gen 2 processor.
Like most annual updates, expect this brain to be faster, more efficient, and provide other features, such as improved imaging, better artificial intelligence, and faster video editing.
