78 min: Ukraine replaces their goal scorers. Yarmolenko and Yaremchuk leave, then Zubkov and Dovbyk.
76 min: Adams haggles in the Ukraine area from the right. With five yellow shirts in front, he does well to power a shot through the bush of defenders. Bushchan para. McGinn lobs the ball high into the air. His shot is deflected by a corner, from which nothing comes out. Scotland has finally woken up, but have they left too late?
75 min: Shaparenko makes a pass through the left inner channel that almost releases Zinchenko in the box of Scotland. Not exactly. Scotland is living dangerously again.
73 min: McTominay and Christie make a couple of quick passes through the middle, the ball breaks to Armstrong, who sends a roll of peas directly to Bushchan from the edge of the box.
72 min: Now Tsygankov drops a shoulder to enter from the left. He shoots. Gordon stops. This is the last act of Tsyganov’s evening: he is replaced by Mudryk, while Malinovskyi gives way to Shaparenko.
70 min: A goal from Scotland could change everything. A third for Ukraine would finish it. And after being so close to returning to the game, Scotland is in danger of sending another, McTominay giving possession to Zinchenko, who almost dances across what is left of the Scottish bottom line. Hampden feared the worst there.

68 min: McGinn falls to his knees and hits the pitch. However, this is much better for the Scots, who send Hendry and Armstrong instead of Cooper and Gilmour.
67 min: The ball falls to McToiminay, right inside the box on the right of Ukraine. Catch and shoot. Matvienko blocks. Scotland is back. Christie feeds McTominay on the right. McTominay’s cross is throbbed by Bushchan. The ball hits McGinn, six yards. You have to score! He tries to get his head on it, but there’s no real power on it and his header is blocked by the keeper. What an opportunity!
66 min: Scotland begins to spend a little more time in the middle of Ukraine, but with little effect. Visitors keep their shape. Gilmour lobs the ball high into the air without any pressure.
64 min: Some space for Adams on the right. He crosses. There is no one near blue. “I have to give it to them. That’s selfless in Scotland.” A bit of dry humor from Simon McMahon, right there.
62 min: Hickey, who is enduring his debut, tries to find Christie in the middle with a low cross. The crowd moans. Then they roar as Adams feeds Christie on the left. Christie shoots down the left. An effort ready! But Bushchan suffocates, and the flag goes offside anyway. This has put the crowd back on track for a while, if not longer.
60 min: Cooper throws Yarmolenko in the air and is very lucky to escape censorship. Scotland is a disaster.
58 min: The Hampden crowd is thrilling. At first, Yaremchuk almost made it three, but his cross-shot from the right haggled a few inches wide of the left post. McGinn then confronts Stepanenko and is punished for his problems. Nothing is going well in Scotland right now, and local fans are not shy about expressing their displeasure.
56 min: Scotland are almost on their way back to the game! Bushchan gets angry about a certainly poor step back, and McGregor closes it. His cleaning shot bounced off McGregor and almost flew into the goal. Just inches from a total fiasco!
55 min: Tsygankov goes down on the left and wins a corner on McTominay. Corner sent long. Karavaev throws an ambitious effort over the bar from 25 meters. The local public is unhappy with Scotland’s inability to maintain possession.
54 min: Yaremchuk passes Hanley on the left. Hanley makes a clearance resulting in a corner. The Hampden Loyalists call for a free kick, but Hanley has simply been overwhelmed, that’s all.
52 min: Ukraine is now stroking him. Yarmolenko dances on the right inner channel and shoots to the bottom right. Gordon does well to go down and block, but this is starting to be disastrous for Scotland. As a result, a few boos sounded for Hampden.
50 min: It was a delightfully quiet ending. Scotland is very worried now. This marker does not favor Ukraine at all.
GOAL! Scotland – Ukraine 0-2 (Yaremchuk 49)
Yarmolenko bargains for the right, reaches the side line and cuts for Karavaev. A cross on the far post. Yaremchuk easily gets up on Hickey, a total mismatch, and guides one back through Gordon and into the bottom right. So easy.

48 min: Tsygankov throws a left-footed shot past Yaremchuk, who almost passes Hanley and enters the area. Hanley does well to keep his line and keep him out of danger.
46 min: Christie is immediately in the middle, passing in front of Mykolenko and making a pass to the McGregor in flight, making turns in the middle. But a promising attack is stopped by the referee, who sees Christie’s cunning forward with his arm.
Ukraine starts the second half. Scotland has made a change, and it’s not particularly surprising. Dykes was the replacement.
Half-time recognition. Ben Fisher was at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw and has received his report on the Welsh warm-up for Sunday’s big.
MEDIA: Scotland – Ukraine 0-1
A few boos from the local audience as Scotland marches. It’s not that they’ve been particularly bad; is that Ukraine has shown itself better. As things stand, Ukraine will travel to Cardiff to play Wales for a place in Qatar.
45 min: Dykes awkwardly elbows Stepanenko in the back of the head while the pair fight a high ball. An obvious yellow card.
44 min: Malinovskyi takes a deflected shot from distance. Instead, he should have played Tsygankov on the inside-left channel. A good opportunity to double the advantage of rejected Ukraine.
42 min: Good work from Hickey and Gilmour on the right. The ball is bounced for McGregor, his low drive deflects it towards McGinn, just inside the Ukraine area on the right. McGinn tries to get hold of the ball but it slips out of his hands. The audience wanted a first shot from a tight angle. One touch too many.
40 minutes into the game, Zinchenko had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. On the sidelines, Steve Clarke continues to breathe a sigh of relief, although he has a great team conversation in the middle.
38 min: Gilmour finds the complete debutant Hickey in the space on the right. Hickey sends a cross into the box. Easy selections for Bushchan in the Ukrainian goal.
36 min: Yarmolenko’s goal sucked much of the Hampden atmosphere, but after a couple of contemplative minutes, the audience rediscovered his voice.
34 min: This was coming. Ukraine could have already scored a couple, and now they have their reward.
GOAL! Scotland – Ukraine 0-1 (Yarmolenko 33)
The top three in Scotland are all over the store. Malinovskyi centers. Yarmolenko, played by Hanley, chases after Cooper, grabbing the ball with a single touch, opening his body and sending a bounce with his side feet over the rushing Gordon and into the unprotected net!

31 min: Ukraine suddenly rises again, Zinchenko takes a corner from the left. Busy Dykes retreats to make sure nothing comes of it.
30 min: Ukraine spends some time passing the ball behind their backs, slowing down for the first time this evening.
