Days after criticizing Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull for leaving The Block amid a family emergency, Scott Cam reveals the reason for their outburst.
Days after throwing an impressive sleigh at Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull for throwing in the towel 48 hours after filming The Block amid a family emergency, host Scott Cam has revealed why they fell so hard.
Last week, Cam labeled the couple’s last-minute script as “non-Australian” and “poor,” as he left the show to two contestants.
But while the Channel 9 host acknowledged that his criticisms were scathing, he downplayed the criticism, stating that the way he spoke of the couple was just “I feel myself.”
Speaking to the media on Friday, he said: “Obviously, I wish Joel and Elle success in the future. It’s just that they created some chaos for us here in the first 48 hours.
“The show … we spent a lot of time and money at the start of our show and then we had to rethink everything … the whole promotions had to be filmed again.
“It was a great anguish on our part when they left as they did.
“When I say those words, it’s just Scott Cam speaking from the heart.”
Cam attacked influencer Elle Ferguson and her fiancé for leaving the next season of Tree Change last Tuesday, without uttering a word when asked about her abrupt departure in an interview with TV tonight.
“We had a 48-hour challenge to choose the house you get and they left after 48 hours. It’s something that had never happened before,” Cam said in the post.

At the time of his departure, it was reported that Patfull’s mother, Trish, fractured her neck after an unpleasant fall.
Patfull, 37, before the GWS Giants, and Ferguson, 36, traveled immediately from production in Melbourne to Adelaide, and Ferguson posted to fans: “Family always comes first.”
