Scott Morrison finally leaves Kirribilli House almost two weeks after losing election, called “Squat Morrison”

Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has finally vacated the Kirribilli House less than two weeks after his election defeat and was described as a “Squat Morrison”.

Moving trucks arrived at the port mansion funded by taxpayers on Friday.

The property, which includes a swimming pool, was purchased in July 2009 for $ 920,000 and is now estimated to be worth about $ 3 million.

Mr Morrison, now a banker, was later seen at his family’s home on a sun lounger.

There was also a moving van parked on the sidewalk.

Mr. Morrison is reportedly planning to take some leave during the school holidays.

On May 22, the day after the election, Morrison wrote a long message on social media.

“I am now looking forward to returning to the County, my family and continuing to serve my local community,” he said.

But since then, many people have turned to social media to criticize his delay in leaving the Lodge.

“Late to fight fires. Late with vaccines. Late with flood relief. Late in the Solomon Islands. Late to leave Kirribilli. #SquatMorrison,” one person wrote.

However, it is understood that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told Morrison that there was no rush to leave Kirribilli.

Albanese has stayed home for $ 2.5 million since his landslide election victory.

Only John Howard stayed longer at Kirribilli House after his election loss in 2007, remaining in the mansion for 16 days.

Kevin Rudd left the Lodge in five days in 2010, while Julia Gillard left in six days in 2013.

Tony Abbott was out the door three days after losing the 2015 election.

Meanwhile, Malcolm Turnbull never bothered to move, and chose to stay at his home in Point Piper.
