Scrubs executive co-producer arrested on various charges of sexual assault

The executive co-producer of the American comedy show Scrubs has been arrested on several counts of sexual assault.

Eric Weinberg allegedly targeted young women in public places with the appearance of being a photographer offering them work.

Detectives from the Los Angeles police department said the writer sexually assaulted the women during the photo shoots, which took place at his own residence.

Weinberg was arrested around noon Thursday in the Los Feliz area of ​​LA.

He was charged with several counts of sexual assault, including rape.

His total bond was set at $ 3.2 million (£ 2.7 million).

The LAPD said Weinberg’s arrest was related to crimes committed in LA between 2012 and 2019, although detectives believe there are additional unidentified victims that could date back to the early 1990s.

“Weinberg was a Hollywood producer / writer and it seems he addressed women in grocery stores, coffee shops and other public places,” a spokesman said.

“Weinberg approached women between the ages of 20 and 30, with the appearance of being a photographer, and organized photo shoots with them.

“Once the women were at their residence, he sexually assaulted them during the photo shoot.”
