Today, Sega announced the next 11 games that will arrive at the company’s next miniconsole, the Mega Drive Mini 2. But that’s not the only thing it revealed during the last live stream.

In a somewhat surprising announcement, Sega introduced a new USB driver, based on the classic SHARP Cyber Stick, which will be compatible with the small console. The driver was known to have both digital and analog joystick modules, and was compatible with several systems, including the X68000, PC98 series, and PC Engine (if you had the Micomsoft XHE-3 adapter).

Sega classic hardware producer Yosuke Okunari talks about the latest announcements of Mega Drive Mini 2: games, the new USB Cyber Stick and more GSK | (@gosokkyu) June 24, 2022

GaemsSX has some details and photos in the original console, along with a fully scanned manual (but you’ll need to review your Japanese skills to read it). You can check out the photos right here.

The USB driver will launch on the same day as the Mega Drive Mini 2 on October 27th. The console and controller have not yet been confirmed for a Western release, but we’ll let you know if they are. And there is no guarantee that we will get the Cyber Stick!
