A video of a dangerous truck crossing incident has garnered hundreds of comments since it was shared on social media.
The video shows a Vernon-based DCT Chambers B-chip chip truck passing another semi on Highway 97 in the Cariboo.
The passing truck video shows the chip truck standing next to it in a solid yellow double line, driving in the opposite lanes.
Then the truck rounds off not one, but two corners before returning to the proper lane, forcing the driver of the first truck to get on his shoulder.
The dashcam video of the first red truck shows him traveling at 91 km / h on June 10 at 7:48 p.m.
But the driver of the red truck has nothing: the red truck accelerates on his shoulder and passes in front of the chip truck before the video clip ends.
The video, shared on Reddit, but since it was removed, has received hundreds of comments, most of them denouncing the two drivers for their dangerous actions.
“I drove a chip truck very similar to the white of the video for a month, part of the reason I gave up was shit like that, other chip trucks, and especially wooden trucks. These things weigh. more than 100,000 pounds loaded, you hit your head on a car, it will be erased, it wouldn’t go through. I didn’t help people with normal cars treat me like I was a Honda Civic anymore, “Redditor WolfinCorgnito wrote.
“Right now I’m a local chip truck driver. I’ve been doing this for a year now. And I can answer that another driver from a chip truck company has literally pushed me to the side of the journey after “We both came from the same factory and he wouldn’t. Don’t let me merge in front of him to the freeway ramp. Instead, he persists in pushing me almost completely off the road.” the chip truck. I will definitely not miss this, “wrote Low_Feeling_267.
The video was also shared on Facebook via the Skilled Truckers Canada page.
The administrators wrote there: “The speed limit is 100. The red truck just came out of an overpass lane where it did below the limit. Then, at the end of that lane, the truck The white truck was 90% past the red truck when the red truck increased its speed to 107 on the shoulder and passed the white truck.
“He deliberately held the white truck out there. The red truck not only endangered anyone approaching them, but endangered both of them. The law is to keep up the speed. The label is to calm down when the passing trucks come to your door.
“If you’re the one taking the step, once you realize the truck won’t let you in, go back and fall back into the truck you tried to pass. Regardless of what happened just before. That’s not how professionals drive. “Both trucks are wrong.”
Castanet has contacted DCT Chambers for comment and a person who answered the phone said management has been addressing the situation since the video went viral.
The transport company for the other vehicle is currently unknown.
