Seven people were injured after two rival gangs of outlaw cyclists collapsed in a shooting on a Nevada highway, police said.
Members of the Hells Angels and Wanderers began firing shortly before noon on Sunday on the US-95 Freeway on College Drive in Henderson, just 17 miles from downtown Las Vegas, the police department said Monday. Henderson.
When officers arrived, they discovered several people were injured. Six were taken to local hospitals, two in critical condition. A seventh person was admitted to a hospital with injuries that did not endanger his life.
Police charged three people involved in the shooting.
Police arrested Richard Devries, 66, Stephen Alo, 46, and Russell Smith, 26.
All of them were charged with six counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon; 6 battery counts with the use of a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm; 6 counts of unloading a weapon in / on a busy structure / vehicle; and a charge of conspiracy to commit murder with a deadly weapon.
It is unclear which gang of bikers the defendants are affiliated with.
The shooting caused a nightmare of traffic in the Las Vegas metropolitan area, as investigators closed US-95 from Boulder Highway to Horizon Drive and Horizon Drive from Pacific Avenue in both directions for several hours.
No details have been released at this time.
