Various fireworks will be held throughout the GTA for those hoping to celebrate Canada’s 155th anniversary with a blast.
In Toronto, the ever-popular Canada Day fireworks show will return to Ashbridges Bay Park, near Woodbine Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard, starting at 10 p.m. Friday.
Fireworks will also be lit in Downsview Park in North York, near Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue West, on Friday at 10 p.m.
Also in North York, the Mel Lastman Square sky, 5100 Yonge St., north of Sheppard Avenue, will be lit from 10 p.m.
Easterners can enjoy a fireworks display for Canada’s birthday at Stan Wadlow Park in East York, 373 Cedarvale Ave., near Woodbine Avenue and O’Connor Drive. Scarborough should go to Milliken Park, 5555 Steeles Ave. E., between McCowan and Middlefield roads. An exhibition will also be held at Splendid China Mall, 4675 Steeles Ave E., east of Kennedy Road. All three shows will begin at 10 p.m.
In the York region, Canada Wonderland is hosting a Canada Day party that will culminate in a fireworks show at 10 p.m.
There will also be fireworks shows at Aurora at Lambert Willson Park, 115/135 Industrial Pkwy. N .; in King City at Kettleby Park, near Jane and Highway 16; in Markham in Markham Center, near Birchmount Road and Enterprise Boulevard; in Newmarket at George Richardson Park, near Main Street North and Green Line East; at Richmond Hill at Richmond Green Park, 1300 Elgin Mills Road East; and Whitchurch-Stouffville to Stouffville Memorial Park to 2 Park Dr. All events will begin around 10 p.m.
In Peel, fireworks shows will take place in Mississauga at Celebration Square, 300 City Center Dr .; Port Credit Memorial Park, 40 Lakeshore Rd. E .; Streetsville Memorial Park, 335 Church St .; and Friendship Community Park, 3340 McDowell Dr.
There will also be exhibitions in Brampton at Chinguacousy Park, 9050 Bramalea Rd .; at Malton at Westwood Square, 7205 Goreway Dr .; and at Caledon in the Albion Hills Conservation Area, 16500 Hwy. 50.
Halton residents can see the fireworks in Oakville at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, 2340 Ontario St .; at Burlington at Spencer Smith Park, 1400 Lakeshore Rd .; at Milton and Milton Fair Grounds, 136 Robert St.
Durham will host Ajax fireworks shows at Ajax Downs, 50 Alexander’s Crossing; en
Oshawa to Lakeview Park, 55 Lakeview Park Ave .; a Pickering at Kinsmen Park, 705 Sandy Beach Rd .; and Whitby at Victoria Fields, 345 Watson St. W.
