Several shot dead, one arrested in Copenhagen shopping center

COPENHAGEN, July 3 (Reuters) – Danish police said on Sunday that several people had been hit by gunfire and one person had been arrested on Sunday in a shopping center in the capital Copenhagen.

Copenhagen police tweeted that officers had been sent to the Field Mall following reports of a shooting and asked people to send images and other relevant details of the scene.

Local media published images showing heavily armed police officers at the scene, as well as ordinary people from the mall.

Police did not provide further information about the arrest, nor did they say how many had been injured. They advised people inside the center to stay waiting for police assistance and asked other people to stay away from the area.

British singer Harry Styles was to perform later in the evening, at 8pm (6pm GMT), in a concert hall less than a mile from the mall.

The concert will continue as scheduled after a close dialogue with police, and half the audience has already entered the venue, the promoter of the Live Nation concert said in a comment emailed to Reuters.
