Wet spring weather continues in Calgary this weekend, with severe storm monitoring in place.
The clock, issued shortly after 7 a.m., warns that storms will develop along the buttresses on Saturday and progress east this evening. “
Some of these storms may be able to produce heavy rainfall, strong winds and heavy hail, “the national weather agency said.
Severe storm warnings are issued when weather conditions are favorable for the development of storms that can cause heavy hail, harmful winds or torrential rains.
The clock rose for Calgary at 9 p.m., but remained in place for surrounding areas, including Vulcan, Drumheller, Three Hills, Airdrie, Cochrane, Olds, Sundre, Okotoks, High River, Medicine Hat. and Claresholm.
