Brooks Koepka is out the door of the PGA Tour and heading for LIV Golf, causing a quick and brutal reaction from the golf world.
The four-time main winner has previously insisted he doesn’t care about money and has targeted reporters when asked about LIV Golf.
Last week, he criticized reporters at the U.S. Open while diverting questions about joining the rival tour, where his brother Chase plays.

“I’m here. I’m here at the U.S. Open. I’m ready to play at the U.S. Open, and I think it’s some shit too. You’re all throwing this black cloud over the U.S. Open.” , he said.
“It’s one of my favorite events. I don’t know why you keep doing this. The more legs you give, the more you’re talking about. ”

In February 2020, when the idea of a Saudi-funded league began to make waves, Koepka said, “Money doesn’t matter.
“It simply came to our notice then. I just want to be happy. Money will not make me happy. I just want to play against the best.
“If someone gave me $ 200 million tomorrow it won’t change my life. What will I get out of it? I already have (enough money) that I could retire right now, but I don’t want to. I just want to play golf.”
Now The Telegraph reports that Koepka is the latest recruit for LIV Golf, which will pay him a login fee that is believed to be among those paid to Bryson DeChambeau (143 million Australian dollars) and Dustin Johnson (179 million of Australian dollars).
In light of the news, social media quickly reminded Koepka of his comments from both 2020 and last week.
In the meantime, golf week columnist Eamon Lynch wrote that Koepka has been humiliated by joining LIV Golf.
“Beyond having to work at the disposal of people you don’t like (to be fair, with good reason), the decision to join LIV Golf is a humiliation for Koepka, all and that he will not like to admit it, “he wrote.
“He has always imagined more of an athlete than a golfer, but this is an admission that he is not, that he is just an animator doomed to do shows against razed veterans and nameless young people he has long considered incapable of sniff your jockstrap. “
