While indoor highs have hovered in the 30s for weeks, campfires are still allowed across the province.

In a tweet Friday, BC’s wildfire service says none of the province’s six regional fire centers have reached the threshold where a campfire ban is necessary.

“Several factors are considered when assessing wildfire dangers and deciding whether to implement or rescind an open fire ban, including current and forecast weather conditions, the availability of firefighting resources and the accumulation index,” says the BCWS.
