Simon Hart has resigned as Secretary of State for Wales following Boris Johnson’s refusal to resign, despite calls from some of his own ministers to do so.
Mr. Hart had previously been among the cabinet ministers who told Mr. Johnson who should listen to the overwhelming view of the Conservative Party and resign, according to Sky News.
A top 10 source told Sky News that Johnson remains “absolutely challenging” and “has no intention of resigning,” adding that the prime minister wants to “keep fighting.”

Mr. Hart had been in this role since 2019.
In his letter to Mr. Johnson, Mr. Hart said: “I have never been a big fan of ministerial resignations being the best way to force change.
“Colleagues have done their best in private and in public to help you get around the boat, but it’s with sadness that I think we’ve gotten to the point where that’s possible.”
Hart became the third cabinet minister to resign after former Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
Johnson fired his Leveling Secretary, Michael Gove, who is understood to have been one of the incumbent prime ministers who indicated he was not satisfied with the fact that the prime minister would remain in office.
