Sir David Attenborough will receive a second knighthood for television broadcasting and conservation services.
Sir David was first knighted by the Queen in 1985, but is now being knighted Grand Cross of the Order of St. Michael and St. George, a senior award, in an award in his documentaries on the natural world and his campaign to save him.
The Prince of Wales, himself a committed environmentalist, is expected to honor the 96-year-old national treasury at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

The beloved station, which is the same age as the Queen, was presented in a segment of the Platinum Party at the Palace outside Buckingham Palace during the Jubilee weekend.
The Duke of Cambridge highlighted the efforts of “visionary environmentalists” during this section of the show, which saw a clip of Sir David projected at Buckingham Palace.
Prince William also spoke of the pride he felt for “my grandfather and father”, the Duke of Edinburgh and Charles, who have defended the natural world.

The last honor comes when Sir David was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, joining Pope Francis and the World Health Organization on this year’s list of nominees.

Gary Lightbody, lead singer of the rock band Snow Patrol, also has to pick up his OBE for music and charity services in Northern Ireland.
GCHQ Director Sir Jeremy Fleming is expected to receive his knighthood after being appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George for services to foreign services, the Commonwealth and diplomats. .
Professor Sir Andrew Pollard, director of the Oxford Vaccine Group, is expected to be named a knight for public health services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, while actor Toby Jones has to pick up his OBE for drama services.
Olympic and Paralympic gold medalists will also be honored, including curling captain Eve Muirhead, swimmer Hannah Russell, bocce player David Smith and cyclist Jaco van Gass.
