Sir Tom Jones has been forced to postpone a concert in Budapest on Tuesday evening after “collapsing” at the MVM Dome in the Hungarian capital.
The legendary 82-year-old singer fell ill before the last European date of his Surrounded by Time tour and doctors told him to cancel the show.
A source told MailOnline: “Tom Jones collapsed, so his concert has been canceled tonight and doctors were called to the stadium. His address is set for August 16 as the new date of the concert. ‘

The source said he collapsed about an hour before his performance, but hoped he could continue with the concert.
But after orders from private doctors, Sir Tom was forced to cancel the concert just minutes before taking the stage, according to set designer Péter Kovács.
A message from the site translated into English added: “Unfortunately, following the advice of doctors, Tom Jones regrets not being able to perform at the MVM Dome tonight.
“The show will be rescheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022. All tickets will remain valid for the revised date.”
Busy: On Friday, Sir Tom took to the stage at the Henley Festival and then performed in Norfolk and Halifax over the weekend, before leaving for Budapest as part of his tour.
“Sir Tom sends his sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused, but hopes to be able to act for you in August.”
According to local news, the National Ambulance Service said he was not called to the scene.
A spokesman for the Surrounded by Time tour reportedly confirmed on the Hungarian news channel Index that Tom had been ill.
Sir Tom’s website shows a new tour date at the MVM Dome in Budapest scheduled for August 16th.

Sir Tom’s concert at the MVM Dome in Budapest replaced Kiyev’s stop originally announced on his Surrounded by Time tour, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
On Friday, Sir Tom had taken to the stage at the Henley Festival before performing in Norfolk and Halifax over the weekend, and then headed to Budapest as part of his Surrounded By Time tour.
After performing in Amsterdam last Wednesday, Sir Tom said on Instagram that he had experienced an “electric night” on stage at the Ziggo Dome.
Sir Tom has flown around the world for his long-awaited Surrounded By Time tour and has been sharing regular snapshots of his travels and shows on Instagram.
His European and American tour has more than 50 dates and the singer will perform in cities in Germany, Croatia, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway and Belgium over the coming weeks.
Illness: Following the orders of private doctors, Sir Tom (pictured in March 2021) was forced to cancel the concert a few minutes before going on stage, according to a track.
In August, Sir Tom will return to the UK for more tour dates, including performances in Edinburgh and Essex before leaving for the United States.
He plans to visit states such as New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut before heading to Canada to perform in Toronto, Montreal and Windsor.
Sir Tom’s 55-date tour will return to America for more shows before ending on October 12, with a final performance in San Francisco.
Announcing new dates for his Instagram tour in April, Sir Tom wrote: “I’m really looking forward to going out on the road for the UK / Europe this summer!

In 2017, Sir Tom was forced to postpone a 21-date tour of the United States until the following year after orders from doctors.
He was to begin his last series of live concerts with a show in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on September 6, 2017, and continue on his way until October 7 of the same year with a final concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tour: In August, Sir Tom will return to the UK for more tour dates, including performances in Edinburgh and Essex before leaving for the United States.
But in a statement to fans at the time, the singer said all tour dates in the United States had been postponed until 2018.
His representative then announced: “After medical advice, Sir Tom Jones has announced that he will unfortunately postpone his tour of the United States, which was due to begin in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, September 6th.
‘Dates are being rescheduled for May and June 2018 and all entries will continue to be valid for the new dates, details of which will follow as soon as possible.
“Tom sends his sincere apologies to his fans and looks forward to seeing them all again in 2018.”
Health: In 2017, Sir Tom (pictured May 2019) was forced to postpone his 21-date tour of the United States until the following year after doctors ’orders.
