Snow Campbell leaves “Scream 6” to pay

Neve Campbell says she won’t be in the new Scream sequel after receiving an inappropriate offer to star in the sixth installment of the slasher franchise.

“Unfortunately, I will not make the next Scream movie. As a woman, I have had to work very hard during my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt that the offer they presented me it didn’t amount to the value I brought to the franchise, “Campbell said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

The slasher franchise created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven has an original character played by Campbell who, along with the characters of Courteney Cox and David Arquette, faced a killer named Ghostface.

Paramount and Spyglass have planned a sixth installment of the horror franchise following the success of a fifth episode that debuted earlier this year.

“It simply came to our notice then. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You have always given me incredible support. I am eternally grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the last 25 years, “Campbell added in his statement not to return to Woodsboro.

James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-wrote the script for the new sequel, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett also returning as directors for the new chapter.

Filming will take place this summer for theatrical release on March 31, 2023.
