Social media posts suggest Dr Charlie Teo is engaged

Sydney neurosurgeon Charlie Teo could be swapping scrubs for a wedding dress soon after revealing social media posts hinting he recently got engaged to girlfriend Traci Griffiths.

The pair met when Mrs Griffiths sought Dr Teo’s expert advice in 2009, although they did not start dating until 11 years later after the brain surgeon split from his wife.

Wedding rumors have followed the well-known surgeon and his former patient for more than a year, but it seems that now there may be some truth to the whispers.

Ms Griffiths, a vegan campaigner and fitness influencer, has used revealing hashtags on pictures of the pair to hint at the change in their relationship status.

The former model has consistently tagged photos of herself and Dr Teo with references to “#myhero” and “#mybestfriend” during their relationship, but in May she updated the hashtags to “#myfiance” and “#ilovemyfiance”.

The revelations are buried in several hashtags attached to photos of Ms Griffiths at the Charlie Teo Foundation Ball more than two months ago.

Suggestions of an engagement continued in June with pictures of the couple dressed up attending a Great Gastby themed birthday party.

Photos from the night are captioned with the same fiance hashtags and a nod to Dr. Teo’s paperboy outfit.

After dropping tantalizing suggestions, Ms Griffiths has remained silent on the subject of their relationship.

The animal activist has not posted any more photos of the pair on her social media accounts and there are no revealing hashtags.

Neither she nor Dr Teo responded to requests for comment on the engagement.

The exciting clues come as Dr Teo has stepped back from his work as a neurosurgeon after conditions were imposed on his medical record last year following complaints from colleagues.

In August 2021, the Medical Council of NSW banned Dr Teo from performing high risk surgery without the written approval of a second independent neurosurgeon.

The restrictions will remain in place until next month.

Before the review of his medical practices, Dr Teo had built his reputation operating on people with incurable or inoperable brain cancers.
