Solstice Weapon God “Destiny 2” rolls you should hunt

Destination 2

Bungie

Destiny 2’s Solstice event is happening now, and we now have up to two Solstice-specific weapons you can get as rewards, this time with a new origin trait that accidentally broke the game.

The origin trait, which allows assists or assisted kills to overflow your weapon’s magazine, also accidentally works when you switch weapons, making plays like 6-chambered Gjallarhorns or the 4th Horseman enjoy some craziness of 16 wheels. This will… get fixed, and when it does, you’ll have to settle for the perk that only works for those weapons, so you’ll need something that looks like a good roll.

So what should you be looking for?

Something New (Stasi Hand Cannon)

Destination 2

Bungie

Feeding Frenzy/Headstone – A fun PvE roll for the hand cannon where yes, breaking the crystal for an AOE kill adds stacks to the feeding frenzy.

Wellspring/Demolitionist: You only occasionally see these perks outside of the same column, so if you want a hand cannon in a spam-centric build (which is most of them, these days), this one can be a good choice for you.

Feeding Frenzy or Ensemble/Harmony – This is an interesting PvP option because Harmony at a 120 when activated should theoretically be able to hit two enemy guardians.

Tunnel Vision/Multi-kill Clip: I mean, it’s not the most exciting roll in the world, but there’s synergy!

Rose of the Compasses (Solar Shotgun)

Destination 2

Bungie

Surplus or Gold Lead/Vorpal – Pellet Shotguns just got another boost on PvE enemies, up to a 25% damage bonus, so you might want to grab one as a Head Hammer.

Gold Lead/Trench Barrel: The trench barrel may not be what it used to be, and again, with the newly added PvE benefit, it’s worth pursuing.

Surplus/Incandescent: This is our second shotgun to be able to roll with incandescent, which I’d say isn’t as good with a special weapon, but can still be fun. I have Surplus here because Scorch can recharge both your melee and class skill via shards.

Fragile Focus / Instant Visions: Some people seem to want to use Compass Rose in PvP to some extent, and this may be your best bet. If you don’t like the new Fragile Focus perk for that extra range, you can also roll Quickdraw.

I’d say none of them are that great, especially the new Hand Cannon which doesn’t really feel like Better Devils 2.0 given the archetype change and lack of perks like Explosive Payload. I mean, it’s probably worth picking up a copy or two with some of these scrolls, but I’d be surprised if any of these became anyone’s favorite in the slot. Anyway, happy hunting.
