Someone set up an Internet Explorer gravestone to indicate the end date of the media

Earlier last week, Microsoft announced the official end of support for Internet Explorer (hurray!). In the true spirit of the celebration, Jung Ki-young spent 430,000 won (which is almost AUD 500 at the time of writing this article) on a new tombstone to place in his brothers’ cafe.
His brother’s cafe in Gyeongju, South Korea, includes the IE logo followed by an English inscription that reads, “It was a good tool for downloading other browsers.”

Jung originally told Reuters that he had commissioned the monument to commemorate software that had defined his career. While the best alternative browsers, such as Chrome and Firefox, replaced Internet Explorer, many of Jung’s customers demanded that they make sure their websites looked good in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, as well as to other modern browsers.

Although Internet Explorer is no longer supported, Edge IE mode will continue to run until 2029 and possibly later. Although it is expected to only be for services and websites that were created in an “IE only” context.
