Police have stormed Southend’s boardwalk after traders expressed serious concerns about gangs causing antisocial behavior.
There is a scatter order in Southend covering the east and west esplanade, the marine stop and the high street.
The order will be executed between 4.30 pm today and 2 am on Wednesday.
It comes in response to incidents of antisocial behavior and concerns raised by traders on the boardwalk.

Acting Inspector Dave Gardiner of the Southend Community Police Team said: “We started to see groups of men arrive at the train station and the promenade in the mid-afternoon and received several calls from business owners who expressed their displeasure.
“We will take strong action against anyone who behaves in an antisocial manner or commits acts of violence.
“There will be a sizeable police presence throughout the city and we will be working with the council’s CCTV operators and our colleagues from the British Transport Police to identify those responsible and prevent them from ruining the night for the respectful majority of the city. law “.
