Two members of the Okanagan Nation Alliance are running along John Hindle Drive near UBC Okanagan Sunday.

Torrential rain did not stop the Spirit of Syilx Unity Run on Sunday.

Members of the Okanagan Nation Alliance made their way through Kelowna, on their way to the Penticton Indian Band Syilx Indian Residential School Monument.

It is the last day of the three-day, 288-kilometer journey that began on Friday at the former Indian residential school in Kamloops.

About 125 runners are taking part in the 14th edition of the race, which began in 2008 to raise awareness about suicide and violence. It also offers young members of the ONA the opportunity to connect with the earth, the great ones and with each other.

RCMP vehicles listen to participants around the city.

They passed UBC Okanagan this morning and were on their way to Glenmore Road, Constable Neil Bruce Middle School Road.

The next stage will be in Peachland this afternoon. They will also stop at Kikinee Provincial Park at 3:30 p.m. The race concludes at the SIRS Monument in Penticton at 4:30 p.m.
