Splendor on the grass: the “new” rule for children under 18 a month ago, authorities say

Teenagers planning to attend Splendor in the Grass received a curve ball just days from the festival, with the announcement that now all ticket holders under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

In a statement, organizers said they were “very unhappy with these big changes forced on the festival at such a late stage.”

However, NSW authorities now claim that Splendor administrators recalled the next rule change since June.

Dave Marchese, presenter of Hack on Triple J, says it’s a baffling timeline and wonders why it took organizers until the day after the ticket resale period expired to announce the change.
