St Kilda’s troubles are not over, as swans take pride in St Kilda’s thrashing

A dismal night in Sydney for St Kilda can still be aggravated with Zak Jones likely facing some interest from the party review committee for a strong blow to Swan Luke Parker.

Jones was standing and seemed to get up when Parker arrived on the scene. Parkers ‘head makes strong contact with Jones’ shoulder.

He spent several minutes on the bench, but returned to the field and played the game away.

The Swans have moved on to a second-place game on the ladder after thrashing the Saints by 51 points in the annual Pride game at the SCG.

Isaac Heeney shot three for the Swans, while Ryan Clarke picked up two, as did Tom Papley, the second of whom was the 200th goal in the AFL.

The Saints led briefly in the middle of the first quarter, but conceded consecutive majors to continue the first break.

Despite having a field position for most of the second legislature, the Swans were unable to convert, giving just 1.5 points to advance with just 16 points in the half.

The arm wrestling continued early in the third, before the Swans finally managed to chain four goals in a row to put the game to bed.

Two major Saints finals slightly flattered the scoring line, which remained the lowest ever against the Swans.
