American TV personality Audrina Patridge has recalled a disappointing encounter with Justin Timberlake in her new memoir, Choices: To the Hills and Back Again.
According to the 37-year-old actress and model who was cast in reality TV series The Hillsthe SexyBack Singer Timberlake, 41, displayed “rude, diva behavior” years ago at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
“We were invited to so many awards shows, and even asked to perform a few times,” Patridge writes in her debut tome, reflecting on the exciting opportunities presented to her and her. hills co-protagonists
“I’ll never forget the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, in particular. Lauren [Conrad]Whitney [Port] and I was on stage to present the award for Male Artist of the Year,” he continues.

“Lauren and Whitney were beyond excited when Justin Timberlake won, because they were super fans. His music wasn’t my kind of music, so I couldn’t have cared less, but I was excited for them.”
Patridge immediately discovered that he disliked not only Timberlake’s discography, but also his personality.
“And then Justin doesn’t even come up to us and accept the award in front of a packed house! Chris Brown came up on stage with him, picked up the award himself and then presented it to Justin as we retreated to the side,” he explains.
Although Timberlake praised Brown in his acceptance speech, it was his longtime producer Timbaland who actually received the award from hills ladies and handed it over to his mentor and collaborator.
Patridge goes on to say that Timberlake “devastated” Conrad, 36, and Port, 37, with his actions, while she herself was “upset by his rude, diva behavior.”
The new author explains that it only got worse from there.
“As if that wasn’t bad enough, Justin took center stage and told the crowd, ‘MTV, play more damn videos.’ We don’t want to see it The Simpsons or reality TV,” he writes, calling Timberlake’s comments an unscripted “personal attack” on the stars.
“Lauren’s jaw dropped,” adds Patridge. “We were humiliated.”
Patridge, Conrad, Port and co-star Heidi Montag made up the main cast that originated The Hills in 2006.
Although Conrad and Port made early exits to pursue other opportunities, the iconic reality show ran for a total of six seasons.

The program was restarted in 2019 as a The Hills: New Beginnings, with Patridge, Port and Montag, now 35, returning. Conrad did not participate, while Cavallari, now also 35, made an appearance in Season 2 in 2021 before its cancellation this January.
In 2007, at the time of Timberlake’s VMAs win, The Hills was attracting millions of viewers every week on MTV. The cast, then in their 20s, quickly rose to mainstream fame, their faces frequently appearing in tabloids and on the covers of magazines such as Teen Vogue, Seventeen i CosmoGirl.
Patridge notes that a musician at the mid-aughts awards show was remarkably nice to her, Conrad and Port.
“Luckily, not everyone was so rude [as Timberlake]. Our table was right next to this emerging artist and her mother. Maybe you recognize the name Rihanna?” she writes of the A-list celebrity known for her reality TV affections.
“I spent some time chatting with her and her mom that night, and she couldn’t have been nicer,” explains Patridge. “He was probably one of my favorite people I’ve ever met at an awards show.”
