Steph Curry had an offside night in the Warriors ’fifth game win over the Boston Celtics on Monday, and the world is doing what it usually does after a bad night of superstar: talking.
As usual, Stephen A. Smith intervened in the conversation and defended Curry in ESPN’s First Take on Tuesday morning.
Although the Splash Bro finished with just 16 points in 7 of 22 shots and didn’t make a three for the first time in his career in the playoffs, Smith is not giving credit to Boston’s defense.
“Steph Curry was 0-9 last night from the 3-point range, I counted at least four 3-point shots where he was wide open. He went missing,” Smith said. “He’s the greatest shooter God has ever created. I’ve never seen anyone shoot basketball like him. He’s right. It happens, okay? That doesn’t bother me at all.
“We entered last night’s game recently after a 43-point performance by Steph Curry in Game 4 on 14 of 26 shots. What the hell do you mean he found out? A game, because he’s lost “Suddenly they found out? That’s just stupid. For anyone who thinks so, it’s stupid.”
â € œWhat the hell do you mean, â € â € œDid you find out? â € â € œA game because it was lost, was it suddenly discovered? This is just an idiot.â €

Before Game 5, Curry had an average of 34 points with 50 percent shooting from the field and 49 percent shooting from behind the arc.
And after the incredibly historically incredible performance of Curry’s Game 4, the Celtics were expected to make several adjustments to close it better.
But Smith said he didn’t see any change really from a defensive standpoint, rather that Curry was just missing shots.

“The point I’m trying to make is that he just got lost last night,” Smith said. “But I didn’t see the Boston Celtics in terms of a hand in the face. Last night was a struggle, let’s see what happens in Game 6. I’m ready to bet my check, you won’t see another Steph Curry oh-fer from the 3-point range again. I want to bet on that. I don’t see that happening. ”
