Fists have been used to stop a speeding driver who was reportedly traveling at 100 mph through the residential streets of Arnold. A 30-year-old man has been arrested.
Nottinghamshire police officers tried to stop a driver in Arnold shortly after midnight on Saturday 28 May. However, the driver refused to do so and tried to flee the scene.
The driver was then seen traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph, prompting the force to punch Calverton Road. After hitting the tire puncture device, the driver stopped at Smithy Crescent and attempted to flee on foot.

Police dogs were then used to locate the suspect. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failure to stop, driving incapacitatedly, driving without insurance and having a piece of a blade and remains in police custody.
Nottinghamshire Police Sergeant Sue Farren said: “This was a great example of teamwork, with colleagues from different departments, including our team of police dogs, who took part in the location. the arrest and detention of a suspect is a testament to the skill and professionalism of all involved that this incident was quickly ended without anyone being seriously injured.
“The safety of the people of Nottinghamshire, including our road users, is our highest priority as a force, so we will always act quickly to stop anyone who is considered to be driving dangerously or exceeding the speed limit.
