Calgary police have arrested and charged a man in connection with recent vandalism at the Peace Bridge.
Police received a call about 4:15 a.m. Sunday about a man vandalizing the popular pedestrian bridge over the Bow River, said Sgt. Joan Guigon.
Guigon said officers chased the man on foot but lost him on the north side of the river.
According to police, approximately 70 panes of glass were damaged.
In a statement Wednesday, police said Brian Douglas Jensen, 58, has been arrested and charged with criminal damage to property over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a warrant. conditional sentence
Police believe the same man broke a window on the bridge in June.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
