Police are searching for two suspects following an incident at Chinook Center on Saturday evening.
Officers responded to the mall at approximately 7:50 p.m. to report a fight inside the building, officials told CTV News.
They say there was a “verbal altercation” between two groups of young people in the dining area and, during the incident, one of the men involved took out of his backpack what looked like a firearm.
Police say they targeted him in the group and then fled the scene.
The weapon, which was determined to be a real firearm, was recovered from a recycling bin for mall security.
Police also rushed to the scene and arrested a number of suspects outside the mall. Once officers reviewed the security footage of the incident, it was determined that they were not involved and were released.
A man and a woman are now being sought, but so far police have not released their descriptions.
No one was injured in the incident.
