After 25 years of marriage, Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin are divorcing as rumors swirl behind the strange reason for the split.
The 54-year-old model filed a petition “for dissolution of marriage and other relief” in a Florida court on Friday.
“I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues,” Stallone said in a statement to People.

The couple celebrated their silver wedding anniversary earlier this year and share three daughters Scarlet, 20, Sistine, 24, and Sophia, 25, with his wife.

According to Page Six, the Rocky star was blindsided by his wife’s divorce filing.
“Sylvester’s intention was to work things out with Jennifer. Now I don’t know (what will happen) because he decided to go public,” a friend told the publication.

In her divorce papers, Flavin had claimed that her husband “has engaged in the willful dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets” and demanded that Stallone be prohibited from selling or transferring any assets during the divorce process
A source familiar with the matter told Page Six: “It’s so ridiculous, I have no idea why Jennifer’s lawyers put that in the divorce petition, it’s just a complete lie. Sly hasn’t sold as much as a shirt!”

Earlier in the week, the 76-year-old actor was photographed getting his wife’s tattoo covered with a picture of a dog.
TMZ reports that the joy that seems to have broken up the couple was the purchase of a new canine by Stallone.
Stallone, 76, is said to have wanted a new Rottweiler as “protection for his family,” but Flavin reportedly didn’t want to add another pet.
Sources told the publication that this allegedly led to “an extremely heated argument that brought up other issues” in their marriage, though those issues were reportedly not seen as things they couldn’t resolve.
In May, both parties took to Instagram to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
