After 28 years in Australian politics, Eric Abetz is now out of federal politics. In a countdown that ended just yesterday, Abetz lost to Tammy Tyrell of the Jacqui Lambie network.
Senator Abetz served as minister in the Howard and Abbott governments and has been a prominent figure on the right wing of his party, campaigning against abortion, same-sex marriage and assisted voluntary death.
