Team Torrens University SA U18 – Game 2

By ZAC MILBANK

The Torrens University SA under-18 team will be close to their full strength when they face Victoria Country on Sunday in the second match of the NAB AFL National Championship at Thebarton Oval.

After a promising 37-point win over the Allies in Game 1, the Croweaters have once again welcomed lead group midfielders Nick Sadler and Kobe Ryan, along with seniors Harry Barnett and Will Patton.

All four players were not available for Game 1 due to Covid’s safety and health protocols, while South Adelaide’s Kyle Marshall has also been included, in the extended exchange, in the 26-player team.

Barnett, after impressing at this year’s ruck, will begin his campaign as a striker after Phoenix Foster took full advantage of his chance in the central square against the Allies.

Barnett, Harry Lemmey and Isaac Keeler will form a formidable trio of high-scoring goals for SA at 50m, while Sadler and Kobe Ryan will inject great energy into the middle of the field.

SA will look forward to two wins from their two home games before heading out on the road to face Victoria Metro in Geelong (July 17) and Western Australia in Perth (July 24).

The match will be broadcast live from 1:30 pm on the AFL website – AFL.com.au
